Commercial Milk Enterprises Collected 730 Thousand 516 Tons of Dairy Milk in September in Turkey The amount of collected cow milk decreased by 7.3% in September when compared to the same month of the previous year. In September, drinking milk production by commercial dairy enterprises was 112 thousand 983 tons and decreased by 5.2% compared to the same month of the previous year. Cow cheese production decreased by 4.6% compared to the same month of the previous year with 55,486 tons. Sheep, goat, buffalo and mixed milk obtained from the cheese varieties with 2 thousand 120 tons increased by 20.9% compared to the same month the previous year. Yoghurt production decreased by 6.1% with 101,469 tons compared to the same month of the previous year. Buttermilk production decreased by 0,3% compared to the same month of the previous year with 65,445 tons. In September, the average milk content of cow milk collected by commercial dairies was 3.5% and the average protein content was 3.2%. Collected cow's milk, September 2019 Seasonally and calendar adjusted amount of collected cow's milk decreased by 1.1% in September when compared to the previous month.
